The Mark of Abel
The Mark of Abel     2005-2008    Our earliest relationships factor considerably, in determining whom we turn out to be. For three years, in hot weather and cold, I invited families to stand before my lens.   I asked them not because I knew what to expect, but because I was curious to see what would happen. Nothing in the images was deliberate or planned.  These groups, and occasionally solitary figures, stood graciously before me as I watched...

Lydia Panas is an award winning fine art photographer whose works have been widely exhibited internationally.

 

Her work is held in many public and private collections including the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago, and the Museum of Modern Art Shanghai.  Lydia’s work has been published internationally including such publications as the New York Times Magazine, Photo District News, German GEO and fotoMAGAZIN.

 

Panas has degrees from Boston College, the School of Visual Arts, New York University / International Center of Photography.  She received a Whitney Museum Independent Study Fellowship.
