I’ve been working on the project since the year of 2004. I consider that the condemnation of the person taken into custody to the penitentiary for the crime he committed is the maximum measure by which a man may punish another man.

The prison must not offend human dignify. He should have time for the penitence, to realize the burden of his crime.

In 2004 in Tbilisi there was a prison provided for 10 times less prisoners then there were imprisoned at that time. The prisoners concern were: a bed for sleeping, proper alimentation  thus not to starve, bathing not to catch some illness from dirt.

The prisoners in the cells lived in such conditions that naturally more aggression against the society and the wish to commit a worse crime arose.

In 2006   the Ortachala prison was destroyed . In the new prison ,each prisoner have their own place; the alimentation is reasonably  diverse; hygienic  conditions are satisfactory; there is medical care, prison library, a possibility to contact with the family. But there are still many "old type" jails in Georgia which need modernisation.
